We are here when you need us.

Whakatika Services is a group of affordable mental health and wellbeing services.

Our Mission

We offer individuals and couples professional psychological counselling, life coaching, and spiritual counselling services according to need and personal preferences.

Our hearts and expertise are focused on hearing, supporting, and championing you as you receive healing for psychological, emotional, or spiritual aspects of the self, including the self in relationship with others.

We care deeply about supporting you on your journey towards a future in which you can rise up, stand straight, maintain fulfilling relationships, and fully engage with both the joys and challenges that await you.

Our Values

Whakatika values professionalism, service affordability, and authentic loving care.

We believe successful, long term healing arises from reaching into all aspects of the human person – mind, heart, body, soul, spirit and relationship.

We believe that all people and relationships are unique, and that a tailored approach to therapy, coaching and guidance, conducted in partnership with our clients, is necessary to honour the uniqueness of individuals, and of relationships.

Whakatika (whaka-tee-kah) is a beautiful te reo Māori word
with multiple related meanings.
A key meaning is ‘to arise, or rise up’; with others including ‘to prepare’, ‘to straighten oneself’, and ‘to start or to set out on a journey.’
Each of these meanings contributes to the core mission and values which form the foundation of Whakatika Services

FAQ’s

Frequently asked questions

Which service is best for me?2024-06-15T02:46:28+00:00

Whakatika Services was developed with the understanding that people are different, and that their wellbeing needs may also differ, or change across time.

We therefore offer a range of help and healing services that use slightly different approaches, depending on need, stage of life, and individuality.

To decide which service best fits you and your needs, please refer to the information on individual services and practitioners on this web site.

Alternatively, you are welcome to make a general inquiry using our contact page, and we will contact you to discuss which of our services is the best fit for who you are, and the help you seek right now.

Can I use more than one service at a time?2024-06-18T04:24:55+00:00

Yes, as our services differ, you may find you are interested in accessing a combination of our services.

In some cases, the help we offer you will be enhanced if practitioners from different services have permission to collaborate on your needs, and how these might best be met.
However, as each of our services adheres to strict confidentiality requirements, collaboration between services, and service practitioners, is only possible with your permission.

Can your services be delivered online?2023-07-02T22:44:07+00:00

Yes, most of our services have the potential to be delivered online.
However, the availability of online services is dependent on individual practitioners, and in some cases on assessment of individual client need.
Should our practitioners agree to provide their services online, please note that we prefer to use the Zoom meeting platform.
